Legacy Athletics & Leadership Academy located in Fort Lauderdale, FL is the first sports platform and leadership initiative that specializes in the holistic student athlete.
Our purpose is to provide participants with an opportunity to showcase their athletic ability through showcase tournaments and skill development clinics; coupled with leadership training, team building and financial literacy seminars.

Charles Hendrix
Founder
Legacy Athletics & Leadership Academy L.L.C.
Charles Hendrix “Coach” is currently a High School Athletic Director for the Broward County School System. His responsibilities include organization and supervision of the entire athletic program, supervision and coordination of athletic facilities, administration and supervision of all athletic events, liaison with the League/State Director, and recommendation to the Principal of changes and selections of coaching personnel. Durriyah Drummond
Social Media Manager / Consultant​

Durriyyah “Riyyah” Drummond is a 4th grade science teacher at Robert Harvey Elementary school. Born in San Diego California, Riyyah is a 25-year lawyer in the making. Being raised in New York, Durriyyah’s family military background brought her to Georgia. There she was a starter for the Wheeler High School women’s basketball team and went on to play Division 2 at Albany State University. In 2015, Durriyyah and her team won the SIAC conference championship. Durriyyah always showed the true “Student” athlete as a player. She graduated high school, bachelors, and master’s at Suma Cum Laude averaging a 3.95 GPA in all. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate degree at the age of 25 with a 4.0 GPA. Read More
Sean Mims
Sunshine State Explosion Game Management / Basketball Consultant

Sean Mims is a native Of North Augusta, SC where he played his prep basketball career at North Augusta Hs Coach Mims college Basketball career started at Spartanburg Methodist College then eventually transferring to Lander University in Greenwood, SC, where he was a teammate of Charles Hendrix. Sean has spent 14 years as an educator in the state of South Carolina.
His coaching career consists of being a former College, HS, and middle school coach. He currently works with Upward Stars Southeast, an Adidas 3SSB AAU program in the state of South Carolina. He is also the founder and director of Hoopsedu, an organization that specializes in people and player development through the use of basketball.

Our Services
Offering A- Legacy League local showcases, tournaments, camps and skills clinics
These events will be held monthly under the direction of Coach Hendrix (Founder). Monthly events will allow participants to enhance their individual skill development through private sport specific sessions and competitive play. All pricing, dates and details are forthcoming. Teams that participate in group events have the ability to accumulate points for each victory through our innovative Legacy League Point Participation System. The team accumulating the most points at the conclusion of (4) quarterly events become eligible for an all-expenses paid dinner sponsored by Legacy Athletics!
Offering B- Legacy League National Showcase (Premier Event)
These events will be held annually and will consists of teams drawn from all across the United States. In addition to competitive game play; Participants will receive instruction in personal finance under the guidance of licensed financial advisors, professional economists and educators. Topics will include: Saving, budgeting, credit, investments and debt. After successful completion of the seminars, participants will become eligible for scholarship opportunities from Legacy Athletics and Leadership Academy. Our initial offering in the Premier Series will be in December 2019.
The Legacy League Innovative Point System
The Legacy League innovative point system will enhance competitive play and encourage team participation! With each tournament played teams will begin to accumulate points for their finishes. At the end of (4) or quarterly events, we will add up all the points and the winner of the league will receive a complimentary dinner for their team sponsored by Legacy Athletics and a community partner.
